2017 CMSS Field Day and AGM

Saturday, July 29th, 2017
hosted by Prinsville Dairy Farms
126 Main Street (Hwy 62), Bloomfield, Ontario

This year's Field Day features two herd tours of successful Milking Shorthorn herds
in beautiful Prince Edward County. "The County" is a great place to come for a holiday,
let alone with an excuse to see some great Shorthorns and visit with breeders!

The Prinsville herd, owned by the Prinzen Family of Bloomfield, is the Semper Trophy (2nd highest BCA herd in Canada) winner in 2016, and has been a successful exhibitor at the National Show in Lindsay for many years. Top cow families include the "Star," "Equity," and "Fashion" families.

The Prinzens have a mixed herd of Holsteins, Brown Swiss, and Milking Shorthorns, and in recent years have placed particular emphasis on beta casein (A2) genetics.

The Koopycrest Milking Shorthorn herd started with the purchase of embryos from the well-known American cow Rovin Derek Ali Accent-P, and the only daughter of that purchase (Koopycrest Mocha Ali Apple) has gone on to be a National Show Grand Champion, CMSS Cow of the Year, and All Time Record Holder for 305 day milk and protein production! Shawn and Justine and family now have a number of females in this cow family, and also bred Koopycrest Anecdote-P, young sire at Semex.
